Dual Enrollment

Take College Courses in High School

Why wait to start college? With 精东影业鈥檚 Dual Enrollment program, you can earn real college credit while still in high school. If you鈥檙e a junior or senior who wants to get ahead, explore new subjects, or start building credits toward a future degree, dual enrollment lets you experience college-level learning now鈥攚ith support every step of the way.

Applicants Checklist

To apply for Dual Enrollment, you'll need to submit:

  • A completed  
  • Your official high school transcript
  • A signed Parental Consent Form
  • A signed Recommendation Form your high school guidance counselor or other school official
  • A completed

Application Deadlines

Applications and supporting documents must be received by the Office of Admissions by the following deadlines. Early application is strongly recommended.

Terms Final Deadline
Spring December 1
Fall September 1

 

Requirements for Enrollment

To be eligible for Dual Enrollment, you must:

  • Be a high school junior or senior in good disciplinary standing
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
  • Have completed one year of high school biology with a grade of C or better (for students enrolling in Biology courses)
  • Have completed at least two years of English and/or Spanish with a grade of C or better (for students enrolling in English or Spanish courses)
  • Participate in a mandatory orientation.

Eligibility for Continued Enrollment

Returning students who wish to return for another semester must:

  • Meet the minimum dual enrollment admissions criteria. A student must successfully complete the term earning a grade of C or better in all coursework to be eligible for continued enrollment.   A term or cumulative grade point average that falls below a 2.0 may result in dismissal from the program. 
  • Schedule an appointment with the 精东影业 Dual Enrollment Coordinator. Contact Dr. Carolyn Wadlington at cwadli20@csu.edu or (773) 995-3921.

Guidelines for Registering for Classes

Once you鈥檙e approved to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program, you will work closely with the Office of Academic Support (OAS). OAS will ensure appropriate course selection and will guide students through the registration and start of term process.

You may only enroll in courses approved by the university for the dual enrollment program. Any exceptions require the written consent of the Provost and Senior Vice-President for Academic and Student Affairs.

Course Load

  • Maximum of two courses or up to six semester hours per term
  • Total of 36 semester hours over two years (fall/spring/summer)

Students may withdraw from a course with approval from the high school counselor/school designee and the Coordinator for Student Success.

Student Rights and Responsibilities 

While enrolled at 精东影业, you鈥檙e held to the same academic standards and expectations as all 精东影业 students. This includes policies related to academic integrity, progress, and student conduct. See the Student Handbook and for details.

Tuition and Fees

Dual enrollment tuition is $150 per credit hour, billed directly to the state/school district.

If the state or school district is not responsible, the balance will be billed to your parent or guardian.

NOTE: Dual Enrollment students are not eligible for financial aid.

Student Support

精东影业 has been approved by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) for the School Quality Rating Policy (SQRP). 

We鈥檒l assign peer coaches to every course and embed tutors specifically in classes where you're enrolled. Tutoring is available before and after class, as well as by appointment. To ensure your success, the Office of Academic Support will track your attendance and academic progress.
